A recent multi-million dollar upgrade has made the Weavertown Environmental Group (WEG) Barge, Boat and Rail Services facility one of the finest in the nation. Located in East Liverpool, Ohio at mile 44.1 of the Ohio River, the facility provides full-service barge and railcar cleaning, maintenance, fueling and product transfer, as well as, towboat fueling and slop removal all at one location.

                                

The facility consists of a work barge moored to the bank and is capable of cleaning up to two barges at a time. It is designed for both liquids and solids using a fully automated cleaning system that is efficient, cost-effective and safer than typical barge cleaning operations because it minimizes the need for human entry.

WEG will also manage the safe transport and disposal of residual product collected from our cleaning operation. WEG is a fully insured and licensed waste transporter of both containerized and bulk quantities using a modernized fleet of vehicles and specialized equipment. Experienced personnel work with our clients to characterize the material, select the most appropriate treatment, recycling or disposal option, obtain disposal approval when necessary and coordinate shipments to the appropriate facility.

The majority of our barge, boat and railcar cleaning and maintenance work is performed at this location, however, WEG can provide these services on a mobile basis.

WEG also provides spill and emergency response services from this location. Staff members are trainined and equipped to respond to both on-land and on-water releases.
